Fox and Cubs has leaves in a rosette at the base and stems topped with flowerheads similar to dandelions but with a cluster of hairy buds beneath the open orange flowers.
It has several other names including Orange-flowered Hawkweed, Flora's paintbrush, Golden mouse ear and Grim-the-collier.
The flowers are popular with bees for its pollen and nectar and we've noticed the flowers tend to be visited by smaller leaf-cutter bees rather than the large bumblebees.
Fox and Cubs self-seeds easily and also spreads by runners.
